I graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego with two Bachelors of Science degrees in both Meteorology and Applied Mathematics during my undergraduate career. In addition, I just recently graduated with my Masters of Science in Earth System Science from the University of California, Irvine (UCI). I researched at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with the National Science Foundation, and locally at SUNY Oswego / UCI studying a wide range of topics that range from chasing lake-effect snow storms to creating numerical models of the Antarctic ice sheet. I also have gained approximately three years of both teaching and tutoring experience with in-home, in-class, and online help with most mathematical subjects, as well as earth science and computer skills.
I loved providing Educational support and enrichment activities as an after school teacher. It was there that I witnessed the importance of one-to-one learning. I was able to pay attention to the students thought process and help them create some learning strategies to achieve higher grades and a greater understanding of their subjects.
Outside of work, my biggest passion has always been running both normal races (marathons, trail running, ultra-marathons) and obstacle course races (Spartan Races). Being able to explore nature via running inspired me to want to study meteorology and has since influenced numerous aspects of my life. I also enjoy watching comedy, adventure, and mystery movies as well as exploring numerous art and science museums across the southern California region. Both creating and viewing art has always been a means for me to relax and unwind outside of my work environment.
